This can be causing your Hot Flashes, Low T, & Early Puberty!

Post Series: Holy Hormones
Good Morning!
I hope you are doing wonderful this fine day. I wanted to start this week off with a little encouragement. Just know that no matter what you’re going through, whether it’s a little stress or it’s emotional turmoil or a life-threatening illness or a similar problem….bitterness, you can overcome it. Joy is found in purpose, not circumstance.
“Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” Nehemiah 8:10
Now on to a very important topic. You may be poisoning yourself and your children every single day and not know it. Of course, no one…or at least almost no one means to poison their loved ones, but we do it every single day. Let me explain.
You know that styrofoam cup you’re drinking your coffee out of right now? How about that styrofoam to-go box you just nuked in the microwave to have for breakfast or lunch? Do you leave your water bottles in the garage, or we’re they heated up on the truck that delivered them? Do you eat that microwave popcorn?
What do all of these things have in common? Plastic, but more specifically heated plastic. So what’s the big deal with heated plastic? Everyone does it. Here is the problem:
All of these things leech a chemical into your food or drinks called Xenoestrogens. This is a trojan horse kind of estrogen! This gets into your system or your childrens’ systems and wreak havoc by loading them up with a hormone that the body thinks is estrogen.
So why does that matter? Doesn’t estrogen help with monthly cycles, and mood, and give more lady-like features? Yes, yes, and yes.
But you see, God loves balance. The hormone system that God has given us requires balance because here is what happens when we lose that:
  • Increased Breast Cancer
  • Early Puberty
  • Fat Accumulation/Weight Loss Resistance
    • Especially around the hips
  • Slow or non-functioning Thyroid
  • Ovarian Cysts
  • Increased Breast tissue in Men!
  • Hot Flashes
  • Low Libido in Men and Women
  • Headaches
  • Mood Swings
  • Hair Loss
  • Poor Sleep
  • Cold Hands and Feet
  • Mood Swings
  • Decreased Energy
  • and more…
So these Xenoestrogens are just posing as the real thing:
You and I can tell the difference but the body can’t always tell. If you want to watch a clip about early puberty then click HERE
So what are some things to watch out for that has these hormone disruptors? Here are a few:
  • Genetically Modified Foods (GMOs) – These are sprayed with a chemical called gyphosate.
  • Plastic and Styrofoam products – Almost all contain Pthalates. They leech quite a bit!
  • Certain Cosmetics – Contains Phenoxyethanol or Parabens…which are perservatives
  • Grocery Produce – Pesticides contain hormone disruptors….even organic can.
  • Commercially Raised Animals – Injected with Hormones.
  • Soy – Unfermented Soy and particularly Soy Baby Formulas
  • Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) – Usually one form of Estrogen or a combination.
So are plastics really that big of a deal?
The answer is Yes! Now I will tell you that this one has been a struggle for me. I love the convenience of a water bottle or just sticking something in the microwave and nuking it. Over time I have slowly but surely gotten away from using plastics (mostly), especially if I am going to be leaving it in the car, sun, or heating something up in it. And I have become vigilant to not use these things for Ellianna (my daughter).
Can you really avoid all of these things?
In short, no. This is why you have to try and avoid them as best you can. We all have these chemicals floating around in our systems all the time. Your detox system can deal with these things pretty well as long as we don’t have constant cumulative exposure that is unrestrained.
So what action steps are needed to take right now to avoid these things?
  • Use Glass or stainless Steel containers to store the water that you take with you on a regular basis.
    • This one is glass with Stainless Steel Lid insert: HERE
    • This one is insulated and has a wooden top: HERE
    • Here is bottle safe for babies: HERE
  • Use certain cosmetics without the added stuff.
    • This is the exact deodorant I use. One stick lasts a long time: HERE
      • Sidenote: you’ll notice when you become less toxic and clean up your life, then much of your body odor magically goes away.
    • Here is a list by “Breast Cancer Action” of cosmetics that does not contain Parabens (HERE) and Pthalates (HERE)
    • The Environmental Working Group has an entire SkinDeep Database that you can search for what you are using right now or what you plan to use: HERE
  • In the world we live in, make sure you are doing a regular detox protocol to help flush some of the build up out.
    • I suggest our Daily Detox. It’s a one month protocol and we have seen drastic results in our patients. You can pick one up in office or go HERE (if you choose auto-ship for 3 months then you get free shipping and a discount on the product.
  • Look for Shampoos, Conditioners, and Body Washes that contain real ingredients, and try to avoid most of the added chemicals.
    • The Shampoo and Body Wash that we use for Ellianna is HERE
  • Wash your vegetables in a 50/50 vinegar and water solution. Buy organic produce with thin skins when possible.
  • By grass fed beef/bison.
  • Free Range Chicken, not treated with hormones or anti-biotics.
Start making these changes now so that you will become better at spotting things that can be harmful to you or your family. If you have any questions at all, then post them below or shoot me an email at with the Subject Line: “Xenoestrogen question.”
Recap Action Steps:
1. Replace your styrofoam with stainless steel or glass.
2. Make sure you are not using plastic with hot products.
3. Check your make-up, cosmetics, and hygiene products for the chemicals aforementioned.
4. If formula feeding, avoid the soy.
